  • Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or Master's degree in counseling
  • New Mexico license in guidance and counseling or social work.
  • Able to demonstrate proficient application of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
  • Able to understand and apply the concepts of strategic planning with resultant successful implementation to enhance student success and improve student achievement.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of individual and group counseling techniques to address student needs.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of principles regarding substance abuse and violence issues.
  • Demonstrated communication skills to enhance student, parent, staff, and administrative dialogue.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of intervention and prevention counseling strategies to provide support for students.
  • Embraces and encourages diversity.
  • Demonstrated a willingness to seek professional development in all aspects of the professional area of teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an environment and climate where creativity, success and opportunity to learn are experienced by all students.
